What WebXR means
WebXR is a browser API for experiences that can present virtual or augmented scenes. Some pages work as ordinary 3D content on a screen; an immersive VR session needs compatible browser and headset support. “Runs in a browser” is therefore not the same as “immersive mode works on every device.”
Before opening a link
Use an HTTPS page, check that the browser supports WebXR, and look for the experience’s own device guidance. If the page offers an Enter VR button but it remains unavailable, the browser or device may not support the required session. A browser experience may still offer a non-immersive view.
Why we label support carefully
Browser and hardware support vary. VRHatch only marks WebXR compatibility when an editor has a source to check; otherwise the listing says “Not verified.” MDN calls WebXR limited availability and recommends checking browser compatibility.
